The results are in. The American Idol final 36 is complete. Casey Carlson has made it to the final 36!
Last night's American Idol had the top 54 contestants from the Hollywood rounds heading to the new judges' mansion where they would find out if they had made it to the final 36. In a new twist, there were a handful of sing-offs where contestants right on the edge would battle for a stop in the final 36.
The episode started off with a number of images of Casey Carlson, so for a moment I thought that she would actually get some real TV time. Yet once again Casey only received about 5 seconds of time in the spotlight, as opposed to longer clip for many of the other contestants. We had the pleasure (insert sarcasm here) of watching and listening to Tatiana squeal like a rabbit being killed for a few minutes, yet Casey only had a few seconds for her acceptance into the final 36. I guess the producers at American Idol think Casey will make for boring TV? Or maybe they are keeping some of the better contestants under wraps since they plan on giving them a lot more TV time later? Another of my favorite contestants, Megan Corkrey, was also was hidden from view and only had several seconds in the spotlight. So maybe there is a reason for it. All I know is that I am ready to see what Casey Carlson can do on the stage!
The final 36 are now being split into three separate groups of 12. These groups of 12 will perform the next three Tuesdays with the elimination rounds on Wednesdays. Casey Carlson is in the very first group of 12, so we will finally get to see her in action this coming Tuesday!
