Casey Carlson Performs Tonight on American Idol
Tonight on American Idol, Casey Carlson will perform along with 11 other contestants in the first round of the semi-finals. Here is the way that the American Idol semi-finals will work: 12 contestants will perform from the next 3 weeks, giving all 36 aspiring idols the chance to sing for America. Viewers from across America will be able to vote for the first time this year. From each group of 12 singers, the top male vote getter, the top female vote getter and the top overall vote getter will pass onto the final 12 in American Idol. That will make for 9 of the top 12 finalists. In the final week of the semi-finals, each of the judges will pick 3 of their favorite contestants from the remaining 27 contestants. Those 12 will square off in a final wild card round and America will choose the top three out of that group. That will create the entire top 12.
Tonight, Casey Carlson will square off against some tough competition. The 12 finalists for tonight's American Idol are Anne Marie Boskovich, Ricky Braddy, Casey Carlson, Tatiana del Toro, Anoop Desai, Stephen Fowler, Danny Gokey, Alexis Grace, Michael Sarver, Brent Smith, Jackie Tohn, and Stevie Wright.
Without even seeing the show, you know that some of the Idol contestants above have some serious talent. In order for Casey Carlson to make it to the next round, she will either need to be the top female in votes received, or she will need to be the top overall in votes received. My guess is that Danny Gokey will be the top vote getter based on his talent and his story. He also received a massive amount of TV time, so fans known him well. If this is true, then Casey will have to beat out the rest of the females.
I believe that Casey is talented enough to get it done, but will the utter lack of television time kill her chances? Will a freak like Tatiana del Toro make it through because Americans have a strange obsession with train wrecks? Did Jackie Tohn win over America with her rocker vibe and unique voice? Does America go with the talented 16 year old Stevie Wright? Or will it be Alexis Grace, or Anne Marie Boskovich?
Watch American Idol tonight and see the 12 contestants above sing for their lives and their places in the top 12 finalists of American Idol.
