Casey Carlson Passes Round 3 of American Idol

For a while I thought that once again the producers at American Idol were going to go through a full episode without letting us hear Casey Carlson sing. I was already thinking about my next post, complaining about this injustice, when Casey flashed on the screen. Excellent news, right?

Not really. Casey was shown singing for a full four seconds. Those four seconds of singing were shown simply to show Casey Carlson stumble over the lyrics of Jordan Sparks' song "Tattoo". Did she sing well and just trip up temporarily? Or did she totally blow it like Stephen Fowler? No one would know by the clip American Idol gave us. Yet since the clip was so short, I can only assume that the mistake was relatively minor.

As with prior years, American Idol sent the contestants into four separate rooms to await their fate. Sometimes two of the rooms make it, sometimes three. Casey was in a room with a number of great singers, but she was also in the room with Stephen Fowler, who totally bombed his performance. So while I have read all of the final 36 lists on the web and believe that Casey has made it, I started to get a little nervous. What if the spoiler lists were wrong? What if Casey does not make it through?

After waiting through another sappy performance by the judges trying to trick the contestants into thinking they did not make it, I was relieved when Kara jumped up with a fist in the air and yelled that they had made it! So Casey Carlson does in fact make it through the 3rd round in American Idol. Now only one final test remains. Tonight we will watch American Idol to find out who the top 36 finalists are.
